Monday update - all classes and students

Advising first, then Pres Law, then Urban Planning

If you need to see me for advising, go to http://profmcs.wikispaces.com/Advising to sign up.

PLE:

  • PrEx2 grades and files will be returned - hopefully - before class. First I have to post -
  • Midterm grades are the average of PrEx1 and 2, nothing more.
  • The powerpoint today will be posted but possibly at the last minute. I’ll post a big announcement on WebCT’s homepage when it’s done.
  • The assignment due today - prelim IP work - is now created. Sorry that I forgot it wasn’t up. If you emailed, please do return it as an assignment - it let’s me keep everything in one place.
  • URBAN:

  • Midterm grades do NOT include glossaries, which are not yet all graded.
  • Biographical Analysis Papers will be returned via WebCT later today, and exam grades - once curved - will be posted on WebCT as well.
  • Glossaries should be up later this week.

PLE - Economics - all posted

This will probably be the last PLE specific post for a couple weeks. I’ve just finished posting all of the following on WebCT:

    1. The readings for Monday (the studies), Wednesday (easements), and the week after spring break (charity). The last is a link to a large PDF file - let me know if there’s any confusion.
    2. A link to an optional reading under FYI with more details about the legal responsibilities of nonprofit organizations. I thought this might be helpful for those of you thinking about writing on NPOs.
    3. Another pro forma PDF - this one with the example we’re walking through in class. I don’t send the excel file because it has all the equations pre-coded. If there’s interest in walking through how to use Excel to do that, let me know. It’d only take a couple minutes to explain.
    4. Last but not least, an assignment where you can turn in your preliminary work for your rehab projects that’s due next Wednesday. Given that there are 7 undergrads and 11 grads, at least one group will be mixed, so get to know your neighbor on Monday if you don’t have a partner yet.

There won’t be a PowerPoint Monday, but there will on Wednesday.
    See you next week!

    PLE Readings for 2/20

    All,
The readings - IRC sections and Recapture brief - are available on WebCT. Don’t forget to also read Boyle. I posted a couple other tax credit related links and PDFs under FYI for those of you who want or need to know more, especially for those struggling with the material or hoping to write a paper on the topic.
There will be a PowerPoint, but it won’t be up until tomorrow. See you then!

PS I’ve been told that at least one of you is complaining that I made no comments on your document, just highlighted words and phrases. It sounds like you don’t have comments turned on, because I would NEVER return a paper without comments. Look at the tutorial in WebCT under Tech Tips and if there’s still nothing, email me.

    WebCT update - all classes

    Hello all.
Your Uploading Practice has been returned. Remember - the only acceptable formats are .doc, .pdf, and .ppt. (Grad students and PLE students, see me if you need to use something different so we can discuss compatibility.)
    PLE students - two things.

    1. Your Practical Exercise #1 (PrEx1) will be returned by Monday, midday, if not sooner. I’ll post here when I return them, but in the meantime, please remember to look before class so we can deal with any questions you feel comfortable sharing in class on Monday.
    2. Your readings for all of next week are up - DOTA, NEPA, and Dole.

Thanks! I’m staying home tomorrow to grade but will be in on Friday.

    PLE Reading and PowerPoint

The readings for this week are posted for PLE, but the PowerPoint will likely not be posted until midday Monday. Have a good weekend!

2:30 update - the link has been released for the E.O. - that was my fault. Just give it a quick look over.

    PLE PowerPoint and Reading up

Sorry if anyone was looking for the AA 1906 and HSA 1935 reading before now - I thought I had put it up already. The PowerPoint for tomorrow is also up.
    See you in class!
