Glossaries!

All UP Glossary writers,
The good news is that the glossaries are graded, saved in two places and test opened on both PCs and Macs. They are ready to upload, but(!) the bad news is, WebCT keeps stalling out on the files greater than 3MB, which is most of them. Since it is currently 4 a.m., I’m going to call it a night and finish the uploading of the files before and between classes. I imagine they will be up and released by 11 at the latest. Do email if there is still no grade showing at that time or if (heaven forbid) you can’t open the files.
Note, if you did a PPT, I may not be sending it back because I didn’t put comments on it. If you have questions, you know where to find me.
All the best – Prof. McS

All classes update

Pres Law – The PowerPoint for today is up, and the Rehab Projects are still in progress.

Urban Planning – I have had a technical problem, but the Glossaries are almost complete. Look for them tomorrow (Thursday) on WebCT.

Tuesday Update – all classes

Urban first, PLE below.

Urban – Grades for exams are posted, and Bio Analysis papers are returned. FYI: Exam grades were curved out of 92 instead of 100 – 92 was the highest score in both classes.

PLE – Multiple things:

  • All assignments are now created and queued. You can turn in the Rehab Project at any time. The next PrEx and Indep Project will be available in April and the last PrEx will be available in late April. As soon as I write the PrExs, I will add the PDFs and move the availability deadline up so we can talk about them in class.
  • Rehab and Indep Project grading – 10% of your final grade is the out-of-ten grade for the prelim work, so for those of you worried by 8s or 9s, don’t really be. If you get an A or B on the final project, that one point isn’t going to make a difference.
  • Group Project grading – I do not mind or care whether one of you turns in the project or both of you. If Partner A turns it in for both of you, that is fine, or if you both turn in the whole thing, that’s fine. The two copies should be the same (I’ll only look at one); do not each turn in part or your own separate version. Unfortunately, I can’t easily give Partner B a WebCT grade if Partner B doesn’t turn something in. Therefore, if you want to be able to get your grades and feedback returned simultaneously, you both need to submit something, either two identical copies or one copy and a note that says who your partner is.
  • Thanks – Jennie

Monday update – all classes and students

Advising first, then Pres Law, then Urban Planning

If you need to see me for advising, go to http://profmcs.wikispaces.com/Advising to sign up.

    PLE:

  • PrEx2 grades and files will be returned – hopefully – before class. First I have to post -
  • Midterm grades are the average of PrEx1 and 2, nothing more.
  • The powerpoint today will be posted but possibly at the last minute. I’ll post a big announcement on WebCT’s homepage when it’s done.
  • The assignment due today – prelim IP work – is now created. Sorry that I forgot it wasn’t up. If you emailed, please do return it as an assignment – it let’s me keep everything in one place.
  • URBAN:

  • Midterm grades do NOT include glossaries, which are not yet all graded.
  • Biographical Analysis Papers will be returned via WebCT later today, and exam grades – once curved – will be posted on WebCT as well.
  • Glossaries should be up later this week.
